The Greenwich Development Agency is a partnership of the local council, the community and local business, whose aim is to make Greenwich even better.

By harnessing the opportunities arising out of recent economic growth and the resulting massive regeneration activity going on in Greenwich, the GDA aims to provide lasting and sustainable benefits to the local community and to local businesses.

The GDA has secured £27 milion of central government funding to achieve this vision, through the 'Time for Greenwich' regeneration programme covering the following three themes of economy, people and environment.

    Economy
  • improve the prospects and competitiveness of existing businesses
  • create new capacity
  • improve the tourism potential of Greenwich
  • ceate potential for enhanced business and job opportunities

    People
  • radically improve local housing conditions in the public and private sectors
  • fully engage the community in the regeneration of the area
  • promotion of youth needs and activity
  • enhance community safety
  • support the aspirations of ethnic minority communities
  • support child care

    Environment
  • protect and enhance the environment
  • upgrade pedestrian routes
  • create new public spaces
  • improve acess to the riverfront
